Episode 8: Himmatwala (1983) – Tathaiya With The Wigs, Boots, Pots, and Sridevi

Just in time for the new Sajid Khan remake to be released on March 24th, we have a podcast ready for your ears. Me, and Jessica (@JessicaSisk, she also podcasts at GeekFurious.com), talk about the K.Raghavendra Rao’s 80′s hit movie – Himmatwala, starring a shiny wigged Jumping Jack in a more talking role than jumping, and a leather-suited, whip-loaded Sridevi, and her many butt-shots.

Himmatwala - Naino Mein Sapna

We discuss all of that and dive deeper into many other aspects of the movie such as -

  • Why did Waheeda Rehman do this movie?
  • Does every 80′s movie need Asrani?
  • Why are the mines placed on the side of the road?
  • And is Jettendra still wearing the same wig?

Himmatwala Naino Mein Sapna

To find out all of those answers, and more (there are some facts about pregnancy even), listen to our podcast.

Also, here is FilmiGeek’s review of Himmatwala, that we keep mentioning in the podcast.

Episode 7: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Of Spain and Bromance

We kick off 2013 with the podcast on Zoya Akhtar’s second movie - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. In the course of this podcast, you’ll get to know more of Mr.Anda’s mysterious character – that he loves ZNMD a bit too much. I, on the other hand, not so much.

Other than that, on this episode we talk about -

1. Republic Day of India, and our earliest memories ( This episode was recorded on Jan 26th).

2. Of Yaari, Yaarana, and Bromance

3. The inevitable comparison between ZNMD and Dil Chahta Hai.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Podcast

4. A brief discussion about Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala (in more details here). Mr.Anda also challenges that if Himmatwala earns INR 100 Cr. or more at the Box Office, he will… well, you have to find that out for yourself.

5. Th infographic of Katrina Kaif’s filmy career – placed on a straight line graph with ZNMD on one end, and Tees Maar Khan on the other.

There’s lot more happening in this crazy first episode of 2013 on the Tripple Eggs Podcast Co.

My review on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is here.

Episode 5: Chulbul is Salman – The Dabangg Podcast

A podcast that got fucked over by Skype. Me and Mr.Anda had recorded a very solid 90 minutes worth of deep discussion on Dabangg, but we lost almost half of it. But anywho, here we are – with the original Chulbul Pandey podcast, that a movie like Dabangg deserves :)

And what’s rolling in this episode? We are of course talking about the movie that started it all, the 100 Cr. churning machine Arbaaz Khan production, with Salman Khan as Chulbul Robin Hood Pandey – Dabangg. Dabangg 2 just got released, but when we originally recorded this, it was early December. Yes, I am lazy.

Dabangg Podcast

There’s plenty more awesome stuff being discussed on this episode, such as: -

  • Munni vs Fevicol
  • Bollywood’s Marketing Spree
  • Filmfare Debut Actress Awards
  • Salman’s heels
  • Definition of Baahubali

You surely don’t want to miss this episode. If not for the charming duo – Me, and Mr.Anda, then for the special Dabangg dialogues which are smartly edited into this. Special brownies for Subscribing us on iTunes, or on RSS. Cheerio!
